Arkansas Legends teams will be selected through a 2-3 day tryout process that allows coaches to evaluate players in the areas of foot skills, athletic ability, fitness, and tactical understanding. Teams will be selected through a group effort of the entire training staff and coaches. All players who are interested in playing for the Legends must attend ALL tryout dates.

Tryouts are free of charge and no commitment is required until you have been offered and accepted a position on a team.

All players are REQUIRED to PRE-REGISTER ONLINE in advance of tryouts. By pre-registering, you are not registered to a team nor are you under any obligation. The online registration software is how we will communicate additional tryout information, team placement, and acceptance of a position on a team. (You only need to register once.)

Players should arrive 30 minutes prior to times posted on their initial day of tryouts to allow for check-in. Each player should bring water, soccer ball and wear shin guards to all tryout sessions.

Legends players are expected to try out with their age group. Decisions will be made on players internally by the coaches and directors based on Legends “Play up” standards as to whether a player will be moved permanently to an older team’s roster. If a player is already playing up in an age group then they can continue to tryout for that team unless otherwise notified before the tryout. All incoming players that are trying out will automatically try out for their age group.

Team placement decisions will be released within 7 days of the third tryout date. Players will be placed on teams by age and ability level. If your grade age and birthdate age do not match up, please note in registration.

ECNL

Logo of ECNL

The ECNL was founded in 2009 as a challenge to the status quo of youth soccer, with a vision to be better. In its first years, the league supported only girls programming, but that was to change.

As a result of grassroots collaboration and innovation driven by youth soccer leaders all around the country, the ECNL quickly rose to national prominence – and ultimately to be the top level of competition and player development in the country. Each step was fueled by a shared commitment to elevating the youth soccer experience.

From inception, the ECNL consistently developed in alignment with the needs of its member clubs, always seeking opportunities to lead and provide more, no matter the challenge or adversity. The four letters “ECNL” have become the embodiment of collaborative innovation, opportunity, respect, development, and excellence in youth soccer, as the once-radical idea of clubs having a voice to determine their future proved to produce results never before seen in youth soccer. Unrivaled numbers of female players, of constantly improving quality, began moving on to the collegiate, professional, and national team levels as the ECNL impact changed youth soccer.

In 2017, the landscape again demanded more and the ECNL Boys was founded, setting the stage for an amazing period of rapid growth, increasing quality and further change in youth soccer. Starting with 57 of the top boys clubs in the country, the creation of the Boys ECNL once again demonstrated how a total commitment to improving the experience of players, coaches, clubs, and the environment in which they develop, can change everything.

Today, the ECNL represents the epitome of excellence in youth soccer, for boys and girls, as the league and its clubs, players, coaches, and everyone involved seeks to constantly “Raise the Game” for the future.

We are The ECNL and we are More Than A League

The ECNL consists of two youth soccer leagues (male and female), each a non-profit, member-based 501(c)(3) organization, with independent governance and leadership structures. The ECNL Board of Directors and staff govern all programs and platforms. The ECNL is sanctioned by US Club Soccer.

US YOUTH SOCCER MID SOUTH CONFERENCE

The US Youth Soccer Mid South Conference is one of 13 Conferences under the US Youth Soccer Leagues Program in the Multi-State Tier. The Mid South Conference consists of teams primarily from Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana and Tennessee. The top teams in the Conference will earn advancement to the US Youth Soccer Regional Championships, part of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series, as well as a chance to earn a coveted spot in the National Tier of the Leagues Program, the US Youth Soccer National League.

The US Youth Soccer National League represents the national tier of the Leagues Program. It features the nation’s top 14U through 19U boys and girls teams, offering additional exposure to collegiate, professional and U.S. National Team coaches. All teams earn their place in the National League through success in US Youth Soccer’s regional and national competitions, and the top finishers in the National League qualify for the annual US Youth Soccer National Championships.

The US Youth Soccer Leagues program features the National League and a network of 13 conferences (formerly known as US Youth Soccer Regional Leagues) across the country. The competitions provide teams with the highest possible level of competition at the national and multi-state levels.

The national tier is known as the US Youth Soccer National League. Established in the 2007-08 season, the National League provides annual competition for the best US Youth Soccer teams in the country to play each other in meaningful games with increased exposure to college coaches and scouts. Every season features teams that each earn a place in the league and compete for division titles, as well as berths to the annual US Youth Soccer National Championships.

The re-imagined Leagues Program commenced in the Fall of 2018 and features a network of US Youth Soccer Conferences (formerly known as regional leagues) that are geographically focused, under one leadership and management structure, and linked into the highly successful National League and National Championship Series.

US YOUTH SOCCER NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

The US Youth Soccer National Championship Series is the country’s most prestigious national youth soccer tournament, providing approximately 185,000 players on over 10,000 teams from US Youth Soccer State Associations the opportunity to showcase their soccer skills against the best competition in the nation while emphasizing teamwork, discipline and fair play.

The US Youth Soccer National Championships cap a yearlong series of competitions for boys and girls teams in multiple age brackets as teams earn their way from the top teams in their state to the regional championship tournaments. US Youth Soccer State Champions and selected wildcard teams through US Youth Soccer Regional Leagues in most age groups are eligible to compete in one of four US Youth Soccer Regional Championships. The champions in the 13U through 19U age brackets from each regional event will converge in July for the US Youth Soccer National Championships.

Annually the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series provides the nation’s top collegiate coaches with the premier stage to identify and scout the most coveted players in the country. In 2017, over 600 coaches attended the US Youth Soccer Regional and National Championship events.

US YOUTH SOCCER PRESIDENTS CUP

The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup is designed for those teams seeking additional challenges to play against teams of similar abilities for a national title. The Presidents Cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer.

US Youth Soccer Regional Presidents Cup events will determine the regional qualifiers that will compete in the US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup. Regional winners in the 13U through 18U/19U groups, both boys and girls, will vie for the national title.

The national tier is known as the US Youth Soccer National League.
